The LDV femtosecond laser made by Ziemer is a third generation device that builds on experience from earlier lasers and represents the finest technology available. It focuses thousands of tiny laser spots inside the cornea, the spots joining together to create a perfect continuous cut. This 'no blade' technique produces a greatly improved flap more precise in depth and smoothness than was ever possible with older, mechanical devices.

There is only one Wavelight Concerto excimer laser in the UK.  This world class laser incorporates numerous technical advances including eye-tracking, online pachymetry (measurements of cornea thickness made during the treatment), superfast small flying-spot ablations (‘Perfect Pulse Technology’) and three customisable Wavefront correction platforms.  All-laser Lasik with the LDV and Concerto lasers is quick with painless and rapid visual recovery.

Wavefront correction is a major advance in laser treatment.  The Concerto excimer laser has three Wavefront platforms- ‘Wavefront Optimized and ‘Wavefront Corrected for distance vision and ‘Custom Q’ for reading vision – one of which will be customised for the precise needs of your eyes.  All my patients receive the benefit of advanced wavefront technology.  The outcome is greatly enhanced quality of vision and patient satisfaction.  For example problems with older systems such as glare when driving at night are reduced.  In fact many patients see better with wavefront technology than they ever did with glasses or contact lenses!
